Snoring is the act
of breathing through
the open mouth in
such a way that is
causes a vibration
of the uvula and
soft palate, which
results in producing
a sound which may
vary from a soft
noise to a loud
unpleasant sound.
This mostly happens
when a person is
sleeping. Snoring is
caused due to some
blockages in the
breathing passage. A
few of the blockages
are: the tongue
falling into the
throat, allergies,
throat weakness,
mispositioned jaw
and fat gathering in
and around the
throat. When the
airflow in the
breathing passage
becomes irregular
due the blockage at
that time the soft
palate starts
flapping. The
flapping of the soft
palate is what
results in snoring.
